The workshop on Promoting equal and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems held on 24 February 2024 at the World Trade Institute, University of Bern, Switzerland, brought together representatives from the CEDAW Committee, academics and researchers specializing in various aspects of gender and economics, government officials responsible for gender equality and women’s empowerment, representatives from international organizations working on women’s rights and women’s empowerment, policy analysts specializing in trade, finance, and investment, legal experts with a focus on gender equality and human rights and representatives from the private sector committed to gender-inclusive practices.
The workshop was organized by the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, GQUAL and the Institute of International Relations in Prague.
Through the method of the World Café, workshop invited participants reflected on the following topics: “Global Perils that Affect Women’s Participation in the Short, Medium and Long-term Perspective”, “Economic Autonomy/Independence and Structural Barriers in the Public/Private Sectors” and on “Women Participation in Multilateral Space”.
