On 5 December 2025, the open-access volume Sea Level Rise: Implications for Human Rights, edited by Prof. Elisa Fornalé (UBERN, WP6 Leader), was presented during a Human Rights Breakfast organized by the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations in Geneva. The event focused on the impact of sea level rise on human rights and brought together diplomatic and academic perspectives on one of the most pressing challenges of our time.

The discussion featured Prof. Elisa Fornalé (UBERN) and Prof. Veronika Bílková (IIR), whose contributions highlighted the intersections between climate change, human rights, international law, and global governance. The event provided an important opportunity to disseminate HRJust research findings among representatives of the UN human rights community and diplomatic missions in Geneva.
Published by Springer as an open-access volume, the book explores the human rights implications of sea level rise and includes contributions from members of the UBERN and IIR teams, as well as the HRJust Advisory Board.
